He has been working in international dispute settlement for twenty years, and has represented States as counsel and advocate on numerous occasions before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as before arbitral tribunals constituted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and ad hoc arbitral tribunals. He has also represented investors in investor-State disputes before ICSID tribunals and before tribunals operating under the UNCITRAL Rules. Previously, Daniel worked in the International Arbitration and Public International Law Group of a leading international law firm. He also assisted Professeur Alain Pellet. Daniel has published extensively in leading journals and edited collective books on numerous topics of public international law, European law and international dispute settlement.
